Inspiring Stories of Personal Impact
With our brand presence design, Deborah Hakes at GPLS, received recognition from the Library Journal: Marketer of the Year 2020 Award.
This project was completed with Andi Counts at Veridian Design Group, LTD.
The Georgia Public Library System (GPLS) was looking to rebrand themselves to focus on the personal impact of stories and to make storytelling the core of everything they do. Our challenge was to create a new brand identity that would motivate people to get a library card, even if they had language barriers, visual or hearing impairments, or were pursuing a degree. We wanted to create a rebrand that would umbrella all libraries in the state of Georgia, making marketing materials accessible to everyone.
The approach was to create a brand identity that was both professional and calming, with shades of blue and green. The new logo was designed with a modern and sleek appearance to attract a wider audience. Creating various marketing materials that showcased inspiring stories of individuals who have been impacted by the GPLS. Our goal was to encourage people to become lifelong learners, whether they were young children learning to read, adults pursuing their passions, or seniors seeking knowledge.
In addition to the GPLS rebrand, we also designed logos for other library initiatives, such as PINES, GPLS e-read Kids, Troup Harris Regional Library, and GLS. We created brand guidelines and a detailed style guide to ensure a consistent visual identity for all GPLS programs and marketing materials. Our branding efforts resulted in a more connected library community throughout the state of Georgia, with a focus on the value of lifelong learning and the impact of stories.
